Construction of a Modern Facility
The proposed facility will be funded through strategic partnerships for approximately Kes 15,000,000 to relocate the 85 children. It includes: • Disability-friendly toilet for boys and girls • Storage facility for supplies • Administration room • 4 x 20-bed capacity sleeping rooms • Laundry area for fitting washing machine • Kitchen installed with a boiler • Four equipped classrooms • Well-equipped dining hall21%Raised: $31,705.00 $150,000.00 -
Water Security
To address the water problem, the centre plans to drill bore-hole as well as set up two 10,000 litres water tanks. The cost is Kes 70,000 each. The approximate cost of drilling water and equipping is Kes 3,000,000. Safaricom staff donated one of the two tanks.3%Raised: $800.00 $30,140.00 -
Therapy Equipment:
The plan is to equip a facility funded by Safaricom Foundation. This will be a well-equipped therapy centre to serve the various needs of the centre. The future vision is to open the centre for children from the community to access therapy services. Currently, similar services are available from either Mama Lucy Hospital or Thika. The approximate cost of therapy equipment is Kes 1,000,000 without fittings. The current available equipment was donated by Germany Embassy.10%Raised: $1,000.00 $10,000.00
